Homemade Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
- 1 to 4 tbsp of sugar (to taste)
- 4 to 6 tbsp of butter or shortening
-1 cup of milk
Directions:
1) Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Farenheit.
2) Mix together flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and butter until the mixture resembles a bread crumb consistancy.
3) Add milk while mixing quickly and gently until you have a soft dough.
4) On a clean flat surface area, sprinkle some flour and then place dough on top. Sprinkle a little more flour on top of dough and then kneed for about 3-5 minutes.
5) Roll out dough into a rectangle about 3/4" thick. Dust a round biscuit cutter or the rim of a cup if you dont have a biscuit cutter with flour and start cutting out your biscuits and placing them on greased pan.
6) Cook biscuits for 15-20 minutes, until they are lightly browned. If you want, you can brush some melted butter on top of the biscuits to give them a nice finish before serving. Enjoy!
